Putting the Garden to Sleep For the Winter

During our last after school class, the kids braved the elements and cleaned up the garden. To be honest, I wasn't sure how excited they would be about this chore. But in true form, they took to it whole-heartedly and once again loved the opportunity to explore and discover while they yanked and ripped, and unearthed roots and plants and weeds! Their little muscles got a good workout!

I was again amazed at their desire to improve the garden soil...they were excited that we could till the dead plants into the garden beds to make it better for next year!
